#Encore8 Featured Artist: Kissie Lee

Phenomenal talent is something that is rarely discovered in today’s music world, which is filled with cookie-cutter artists and sounds. German-born Shantee Tyler is the music lover’s breath of fresh air as she not only writes, sings, dances and performs her own original music, but she does so with grace, beauty, style and class.

Her childhood passion has become her life mission, and led her at an early age to showcase her singing, acting, dancing, and improv skills with Colorado's Kids Incorporated improv troupe; she was then singled out to do a commercial for Costco and went to do other skits for the company. At the age of 8, Shantee was chosen to open for platinum-selling artist CeCe Penniston through a local Denver radio station. Shantee began to record her first demo at the age of 9. “When I Get Older”, a song from this demo increased her following in Denver through its circulation on a local mix tape. Throughout Shantee's teen years she worked diligently to sharpen her skills, by choreographing and performing routines of her original tunes at state-wide festivals and showcases. Her dedication and drive made entertainment talents like DJ Big Spade, Kevin Johnson, & Terry Davis take notice.

In 2004, Sean (P. Diddy) Combs hand-picked Shantee to participate in MTV's Making the Band season 3. This was not only a great opportunity for Shantee to showcase both her singing and dancing talents, but also a great opportunity for personal and career growth. Although, Shantee was not selected as one of the members of Danity Kane, fate would further drive Shantee to Atlanta, GA to further her musical ambitions. After coming so close to fulfilling her dreams Shantee returned to Atlanta even more driven and determined than ever. This drive and determination would compel her to join the popular girl group, ISSYS, which was managed by 580 Entertainment and affiliated with Jagged Edge. Jagged Edge produced most of the songs. With each step she took, Shantee Tyler was getting much closer to her dreams being fulfilled, which included working with Grammy award winning producers like, BAM (Nelly and Kelly “Dilemma”) and Teddy Bishop ( Tony Braxton “Breath Again” LeToya Luckett, “Torn”).

Shantee’s love of music makes her continue to blossom as an artist, songwriter, and entertainer. She also continues to sharpen her skills by working with some of the industry’s hottest producers, but she is also a part of the new and very talented up and coming writing team called WRITE TIME MUSIC GROUP. Her writing team was featured in Urban Network magazine in 2008 and Kontrol Magazine 2011 as the new hit makers of the future. She has currently written and submitted songs to a variety of popular artists including Danity Kane, Beyonce, J-Lo, Cassie, Lloyd, Letoya Luckett and Tanisha Kelly to name a few. Shantee has worked with and continues to work with Grammy award winning producers such as The Corna Boyz, Drumma Boy, DJ Toomp, Oak, Boi1da, Teddy Bishop, Soul Diggaz and Big Tank. She has also written and worked with other well known producers such has Dominic Gordon, Beimajor, L Roc, No ID and K-Fam; this illustrates her commitment not only to her singing skills but to her writing skills as well.

Shantee Tyler is definitely one of those artists that any and everyone should look out for in the near future. She is currently working on her solo album with the Grammy Award winning producers the Soul Diggaz, ThaCornaboyz under the management of DKR Entertainment/Eight72 Entertainment.
