#Encore8 Featured Artist: Kissie Lee

Phenomenal talent is something that is rarely discovered in today’s music world, which is filled with cookie-cutter artists and sounds. German-born Shantee Tyler is the music lover’s breath of fresh air as she not only writes, sings, dances and performs her own original music, but she does so with grace, beauty, style and class.

Her childhood passion has become her life mission, and led her at an early age to showcase her singing, acting, dancing, and improv skills with Colorado's Kids Incorporated improv troupe; she was then singled out to do a commercial for Costco and went to do other skits for the company. At the age of 8, Shantee was chosen to open for platinum-selling artist CeCe Penniston through a local Denver radio station. Shantee began to record her first demo at the age of 9. “When I Get Older”, a song from this demo increased her following in Denver through its circulation on a local mix tape. Throughout Shantee's teen years she worked diligently to sharpen her skills, by choreographing and performing routines of her original tunes at state-wide festivals and showcases. Her dedication and drive made entertainment talents like DJ Big Spade, Kevin Johnson, & Terry Davis take notice.

In 2004, Sean (P. Diddy) Combs hand-picked Shantee to participate in MTV's Making the Band season 3. This was not only a great opportunity for Shantee to showcase both her singing and dancing talents, but also a great opportunity for personal and career growth. Although, Shantee was not selected as one of the members of Danity Kane, fate would further drive Shantee to Atlanta, GA to further her musical ambitions. After coming so close to fulfilling her dreams Shantee returned to Atlanta even more driven and determined than ever. This drive and determination would compel her to join the popular girl group, ISSYS, which was managed by 580 Entertainment and affiliated with Jagged Edge. Jagged Edge produced most of the songs. With each step she took, Shantee Tyler was getting much closer to her dreams being fulfilled, which included working with Grammy award winning producers like, BAM (Nelly and Kelly “Dilemma”) and Teddy Bishop ( Tony Braxton “Breath Again” LeToya Luckett, “Torn”).

Shantee’s love of music makes her continue to blossom as an artist, songwriter, and entertainer. She also continues to sharpen her skills by working with some of the industry’s hottest producers, but she is also a part of the new and very talented up and coming writing team called WRITE TIME MUSIC GROUP. Her writing team was featured in Urban Network magazine in 2008 and Kontrol Magazine 2011 as the new hit makers of the future. She has currently written and submitted songs to a variety of popular artists including Danity Kane, Beyonce, J-Lo, Cassie, Lloyd, Letoya Luckett and Tanisha Kelly to name a few. Shantee has worked with and continues to work with Grammy award winning producers such as The Corna Boyz, Drumma Boy, DJ Toomp, Oak, Boi1da, Teddy Bishop, Soul Diggaz and Big Tank. She has also written and worked with other well known producers such has Dominic Gordon, Beimajor, L Roc, No ID and K-Fam; this illustrates her commitment not only to her singing skills but to her writing skills as well.

Shantee Tyler is definitely one of those artists that any and everyone should look out for in the near future. She is currently working on her solo album with the Grammy Award winning producers the Soul Diggaz, ThaCornaboyz under the management of DKR Entertainment/Eight72 Entertainment.

#Encore8 Featured Artist: Sy Ari Da Kid

Sy Ari Da Kid (formerly known as “Da Kid”) was born on January 8, 1986 in Bronx, New York, but has been residing on the North side of Atlanta, GA. for that past 17 years. He has two siblings and is the youngest amongst them. Sy was raised in a two-parent household and speaks highly of his parents through his music. He achieves this by sharing the values, morals, and first-class ethics instilled in him during his upbringing to include avoiding the negativity of the streets and avoiding the use of alcohol and drugs. While trying to find an illustration for Da Kid’s music people usually compare it to Hip Hop. With his lyrically vicious tongue, Sy, the charismatic, metaphoric, mayhem, is currently working on his 13th mix tape since February 2012 ("THE ULTRASOUND 2 - THE BIRTH" hosted by TRAPAHOLICS and DJ Scream). While working on his own project, he has released the mixtape WORKAHOLICS with K-Camp. That has the hit single “BUSSIN” .

In today’s society, it appears to be more up and coming artists than ears available to listen. An industry saturated with gimmicks, talent is often overshadowed and substance undervalued until now. Earning 11 recurring wins on Atlanta's hip hop station Hot 107.9 for rap battling, Sy earned recognition for himself in Atlanta. Expanding his role in music, he educated himself on the art of song producing. He began to perfect production which caught the eye of a Grammy Award winning songwriter and producer, Brian Michael Cox, who signed Da Kid as a producer on his label. Due to this awe-inspiring opportunity, in 2006, Da Kid launched an independent record label (Arrogant Music). He has put out numerous of unfailing mix-tapes under his label such as The Ultrasound, Civil War, The Other Guys, Best of Kid parts 1, 2 & 3, Bad Boys for Life, Kendall’s Bumsauce 1&2, The Other Guys, and The Heartbreak Kid (which dropped in Feb. 2012 and caters to women). Sy’s escalation in music shows in one of his most recent releases “The Definition of Definition.” Some of the songs on this release stand out particularly Definition of Definition, If I Was A Trapper and This Aint Hip Hop. Also, through his music, Sy has branded his own humorous jargon which includes “YERT, TURKEY, KENDALL, WHEATTHINS, and BUMSAUCE” with BUMSAUCE being an all-time favorite for his fans because of the comical “BUMSAUCE” skits that are included as interludes on a few of his mix-tapes.

Since December of 2011 Sy has faced numerous hardships like losing his best friend “Slim Dunkin,” and becoming a single father and many other experiences. One would question in the course of this, “How did he make it through?” But, somehow, through this distress, Sy has managed to put out 12 mix-tapes, appeared on dozens of features, and produced for others. He has worked in partnership with artists such as Travis Porter, Cyhi Da Prynce, Future, Waka Flocka, Gucci Mane, Lil Niqo, Spliff Star and Akon, just to name a few. He is currently in the process of working with the legendary Lady of Rage. He considers himself to be a role model who is dedicated to his fans and puts across, “I motivate the people to stay positive. I show step by step how to turn a dream into reality with a penny. I smile as soon as I wake up. I treat my parents like a King and Queen and I LOVE my son more than I do myself. Plus, I aim to be my best…already believing that ‘I AM’ while taking my music to Heaven.”

Sy Ari Da Kid has recently hooked up with HipHopDx.com and talked about his rap career and his upcoming LP with Bumpy Knuckles. Check it out here: http://www.hiphopdx.com/index/news/id.24802/title.sy-ari-da-kid-talks-battle-rap-career-his-upcoming-lp-with-bumpy-knuckles

Brooklynn, a 20 year old American singer and actress, has amazing vocals and range within and will be gracing the stage at Encore8. Before she pursued a music career, she was an actress. She starred as one of the Top 9 contestants in the singing competition/reality series, "Take The Stage". She worked alongside Johnny Wright and Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins.

Shortly after, she moved to Atlanta, GA to work on her upcoming project at the legendary Treesound Studios. Brooklynn has spent many years building a dedicated fan base, known as “Brooklynnites”, and continues to gain more fans by performing at live events and concerts.

I am pretty excited to watch Brooklynn perform at Encore8. I know she will do great! Check out some of her work below! You will not be disappointed.
